Last year, a joint working group of ADCS members and members of the Association of Directors of Environment, Planning and Transport (ADEPT), produced a paper outlining the challenges associated with home to school transport and putting forward a number of proposals which would help to improve the sustainability of the system.
Following a joint letter sent from ADCS and ADEPT to Damien Hinds MP, Minister for Schools, outlining the concerns, the Associations have received a response which acknowledges the challenge but states that there are no plans to review the legislation.
