Overview
The South West Association of Directors of Children’s Services (SWADCS) is a South West regional network representing the Directors of Children’s Services from all 15 South West Local Authorities.
It provides strategic leadership for improvement work across all aspects of Children’s Services within the region. The network also:
- Provides a network of peers to support one another in the DCS role
- Provides a forum for the identification and sharing of best practice
- Identifies opportunities for further collaboration between the region’s Local Authorities and partners
- Engages with key strategic partners on relevant issues
- Partners with Sector Led Improvement group to oversee and partake in improvement work for Children’s Services
- Completes the annual Self-Assessment Peer challenge with the South West
- Establishes priority foci for improvement in the region
- Oversees data collection and collaboration across the region
Who is part of this Network?
This network comprises of the 15 Directors of Children’s Services from the South West region.
To be a member of this network group you would need to be a DCS in the South West.
Governance
The group is chaired by Lucy Townsend, Corporate Director for People at Wiltshire Council. This Group links with the SW RIIA Network Group.
